				The office of James N. Smith Architect, Inc. offers architectural design services including conceptual design, design development, construction documents production and construction administration. Additionally, the firm offers professional services covering pre-design issues such as site selection, site planning and project feasibility, as well as program development and cost estimating, contractor selection and bidding administration for complete project delivery. The project mix in the office is predominantly custom single family residences, both new construction and additions. Currently, there are projects in Pebble Beach, Pasadera Country Club, the City of Monterey, the City of Carmel, Carmel Valley, Carmel Highlands and other areas within Monterey County. The office has completed commercial projects including a remodel to an historic retail building in Carmel, a day spa in Monterey, a retail store on Cannery Row and a car dealership remodel in Seaside. The firm will remain focused on high end residential architecture as an enduring specialty. James worked for five years as Project Architect for a local architectural firm on many prestigious estates in Pebble Beach before opening James N. Smith Architect. Prior to relocating to Pebble Beach, James gained extensive experience with a wide range of commercial and residential projects in Northern and Southern California, and has been a licensed Architect since 1993. This firm’s approach to every project is based on producing quality design and documents within a context of respect and communication. The firm has two Intern-Architect employees who share this approach to our profession. In order to deliver a successful project, respect must be maintained for the needs, tastes and aspirations of every client, for their budget and timeframe, for the persons building the project, and ultimately for the project site and the public at large. We focus on assembling a strong project team with clear communication and mutual respect for successful project delivery. As a result, our firm has various repeat clients, great contractor working relationships, and many other positive referrals.
